IES Kids' Camp (April 9-10, 2011) at D'Agape Residence

I just got back from the camp with my daughter, Dea. Brandon didn't join because the camp was for 6-12yo. The camp was great and the place is amazing. We had a lot of fun and my daughter certainly had learned a lot. She had dedicated her life to Jesus and prayed to be filled with the Holy Spirit... I'm so happy for her.

Here are some pictures from the camp...

Thanks to Pastor Tim, Pastor Debra, and Pastor Maureen from IES Kids Church who had work so hard in organizing this camp. God bless you!

Curriculum for the Next Academic Year

It's been a long time since my last post, I know. I've been very busy as I take up a new job now as a home tutor in the afternoon. We're still adjusting the new schedule. So, having this job in the afternoon, I'm thinking of changing the curriculum, because I don't really have any time to prepare for the lessons anymore. I've been searching for another curriculum and tell you the truth, I feel overwhelmed with all the options. They're sooo many!

I've been reading the reviews here and there and downloading lesson samples, and still feel somehow "not sure"... until I found Christian Light Education. I downloaded their lesson samples, and have my daughter tried it... and she loves it! So, I'm going to get her do the diagnostic test first to know her level... but I think I'm going to go ahead and order the Level 200. She's an advanced reader, and I can see that we've done some of the things from Level 100.

I'm so glad that I found this curriculum. Hope it will work well with my kids.

She's so serious...
This is her look when I ask her about the curriculum... she loves it!

Singing "Counting on God"

My daughter loves to sing... so I caught her singing this song, using her dad's "song book".

Christmas Celebration with Christian Home Education Community

Happy New Year 2011! Hope it’s not too late to wish you all a very happy new year of homeschooling… LOL.

I’ve been very busy during the Christmas season, preparing for the Homeschool Community’s Christmas Celebration. I’m so glad that it turned out great. We wouldn’t have done it if not because of God’s grace and the support of all the parents. I’m sooo blessed to be part of this community.

Here’s the picture of us all… Whoa!
The whole gang

Here are some pictures of the children performance...

One Fine Art Day...

We're studying Monet's Waterlily Pond, and Andrea was inspired to do the painting in her own style. I got the technique from Practical Pages. Thanks, Nadene.
It's an entertainment for them to paint and to play with colors. For me, to watch them do it...
Brandon did his own version of abstract painting and of course, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse... his favorite... LOL!
Andrea then did another painting that she learned from the art school. She called it "The City".

What a one fine art day...

What We Have Done So Far…

The schedule is lighter now and I don’t feel overwhelmed as before. I don’t want to get too stressful on the things we haven’t accomplished and then try to push her into doing more. She’s only six and I’m very proud of what she can do right now, so I don’t want to rush her in anyway. I want her to enjoy her childhood. I want her to be free to explore, to do arts, to move and dance, to be loud when singing or laughing, and most of all… to be herself and I want her to have fun in the process.

Here are some of the works that Andrea did…
Dea doing the copywork from Scripture

She’s happier now and have lots of time for read-alouds which is her favorite part of the school. We both are happier… LOL
